Project Overview
For this project, we collaborated with one of the largest homebuilding companies in the U.S. They were looking for a new way to train their construction managers — something more interactive and intuitive than traditional manuals or static documents.

We designed a 3D interactive application that walks users through each stage of the homebuilding process. Construction managers could spatially explore key components of a home and activate an “X-Ray” mode to reveal hidden systems like plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and utilities. This helped them gain a deeper, layered understanding of how different parts of the building come together. To reinforce learning, we also designed a quiz section that tests users’ knowledge after they explore each stage.

It was an exciting opportunity to bring 3D thinking into a traditionally 2D training world.
Key Contributions
I led the entire UX/UI design process for this application — from initial concept to interactive prototyping and final UI design.
Outcomes
The client was very excited about the experience we delivered, and the collaboration was smooth and energizing. Although the project didn’t continue after the main stakeholder left the company, it was a valuable learning journey for me.

Through this project, I saw how real-time 3D can make complex building processes much more tangible and easier to understand. I believe this approach — combining spatial exploration and interactive visualization — has great potential not only for training, but also for improving construction workflows, engaging customers, and even supporting sales conversations more visually.
